What forms do I need to have turned in before I can start track? -You must have all athletic forms on file and uploaded to Final Forms before you can practice or participate, which can be submitted online by Clicking Here!
Are there cuts or tryouts? -Anyone that would like to be a member of the track team, who has met the academic requirements, and has uploaded the proper paperwork above, can be a member of the team. -Not everyone will be able to travel to away meets, but everyone will be given the opportunity to compete in some events at home meets.
How will coaches communicate with parents? -We will send out messages through ParentSquare; and we will share information at our parent meeting on Tuesday, March 12th. Please enter through door 17, and we will meet in the main gym.
Practice Attire: -Please have running tennis shoes, shorts, and a shirt for practice. Please keep a sweatshirt and pants with you for cold weather. If the weather is 40 or above we will go outside. -We normally don't encourage kids to get track spikes at this level. If you think your athlete should have track spikes please speak with us first.

How many practices are required? -You must have 10 practices in before the first meet. 1. 3:00-4:15 each day 2. Pick kids up near baseball field by the Play Like a Champion sign. *If practice is held indoors, pick kids up at door 17 near the gyms. Normally we will not have practice outside if it's raining or below 40 outside. 3. Students that cannot be picked up at 4:15 pm can carpool with a friend or walk up the hill to the public library and wait to be picked up. 4. If you cannot make arrangements to be picked up on time then you should not come to practice.
Trainer: 1. Is there a trainer that my son/daughter can see? -PCMS will provide a trainer for all home track meets who will also be available at all home athletic events. (Baseball or Softball)

What should my son/daughter do with his/her inhaler? -Runners with inhalers are responsible for having them at every practice and meet. -Athletes are encouraged to carry their own inhalers at all times, or they are to be given to their position coach prior to a race or event and he/she will hold them in his/her pocket until they are needed. Coaches are not responsible for keeping track of individuals' inhalers.
Pre-Meet: 1. Where should my son/daughter go before a meet? -You should ride the bus home or get picked up by your parents during all home meets. -Athletes can also go to the Public Library. -Participants can use this time to finish homework, receive tutoring, review for tests, and eat their dinner. Plan ahead! -During away meets, participants are encouraged to go home and come back to school by 4:20. If necessary, athletes can go to the wrestling room after school until the bus leaves. Coaches would rather athletes go home. -Athletes cannot roam the school after 3:00.
What if my son/daughter is not in the meet? -Athletes not in the meet will go home after school.
Uniforms: 1. A uniform top will be provided for the runners to wear at meets, but they will have to provide their own black shorts. Some runners like to wear undershirts under their jerseys, but this is not required. 2. Please have your son/daughter keep a hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants, and hat in his/her locker for the days when Indiana weather suddenly turns cold and breezy.

Running: 1. Coaches will determine which runners give the team the best opportunity to compete. Only the best runners, jumpers, and throwers will be able to compete at the varsity level. 2. Runners that do not run as varsity can possibly run in reserve races, or they can run the 1600M run or 2400M run. 3. If a runner is not at practice the day before a meet without a medical excuse or otherwise, they will not run. 4. Coaches will not discuss track line-ups with parents. If your son/daughter has questions, please have him/her ask the appropriate member of the coaching staff. 5. Reserve races are scheduled in an attempt to get as many non-varsity runners a chance to run as possible at home and away meets. 6. If your son/daughter has gym class and doesn't dress for gym he/she cannot participate in the practice or meet. 7. Not all members will participate in every meet. Going home with parents after away meets: Switching to a Google Form System. 1. Can my son/daughter ride home with me after an away meet? -Runners are encouraged to ride home with parents after all away meets when they are finished with their events. However, you must fill in the required information on the Google form for each meet. See below. If my son/daughter has a doctor's (dentist, etc.) appointment, what should I do? -If your son/daughter has an appointment that he/she must attend, please try to make the appointment immediately after school the day of a meet, or for the practice following a meet. Also, notify Coach Meyers and your son/daughter's position coach immediately. 2. If my son/daughter misses a practice will this affect his/her playing time and where he/she is supposed to run in the meet? -The only exceptions would be a doctor/dentist appt., funeral, family emergency or other extenuating circumstances and they must be followed up with the parent contacting Megan Meyers and the proper position coach. 3.
